- A short frontend digest posted on schedule, without anyone writing it
The problem
Keeping up with frontend news means following a long list of blogs, newsletters and release pages. Most of it is noise for a given team, and writing a summary by hand every time does not last.
What we built
A bot that reads 18 frontend sources, from the React and Next.js blogs to MDN and Smashing Magazine, plus Google News keyword searches for wider coverage. It keeps only recent stories, ranks the topics that matter to the team first, such as React, Next.js, Nx, GraphQL, Fastify and Vercel, and has OpenAI write a short digest. The digest is posted to Telegram on a schedule and exported as JSON so a website can show it too.
How we built it
Node.js with RSS parsing, the OpenAI API for the summary and the Telegram Bot API for posting. It runs as a Netlify scheduled function, stores the latest digest in Netlify Blobs and serves it through a small API. A dry-run mode makes it safe to test without posting.
The result
A short frontend digest arrives on schedule, chosen and written automatically, with a person only needed to decide which topics matter.
